    Abdul Wahid Soomro was born on October 21, 1962 in village Mohammad Hashim Soomro of Thatta, Sindh. He was the son of Ex-MNA Mohammad Khan Soomro who is the closed friend of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. he went to Cadet College Petaro (CCP) for further studies. He did his matriculation and intermediate from the Cadet College Petaro (CCP). He started his political career in his student life in 1981. He got member ship in Sindh People Student Federation (SPSF) and then became the President of Sindh People Student Federation (SPSF) unit Liaquat Medical College (LMC). Jamshoro, He graduated from Liaquat Medical College (LMC), Jamshoro, and Sindh in 1989 and he also got the degree of B.Sc from Sindh University. On 18th of February 2008 he was elected the Member of National Assembly of Pakistan from NA-237

Pakistan for result-oriented dialogue on Kashmir: FM

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that Pakistan wanted to have a meaningful dialogue with India with regard to the Kashmir issue.
Speaking to media representatives after chairing a meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Qureshi said Pakistan maintained its historical and principled stance on the issue.
He further said that India had been told that the next session of dialogue should be result-oriented as opposed to being a mere photo session.
Moreover, the minister called upon the international community to help stop the Indian forces' atrocities in the region.

BRUSSELS: Nato chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen will meet with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday, the alliance said, amid a row over a Nato helicopter strike inside Pakistan.
Qureshi will visit the transatlantic alliance's headquarters in Brussels on the sidelines of a two-day Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). A Nato statement said Saturday there would be no press briefing after the talks with Rasmussen.
Pakistan blocked a land route for Nato convoys carrying supplies to neighbouring Afghanistan on Thursday after officials blamed a cross-border Nato helicopter attack for the deaths of three Pakistani soldiers.
The Khyber pass at Torkham is on one of the main Nato supply routes through Pakistan into Afghanistan, where more than 152,000 US and Nato forces are fighting a Taliban-led insurgency.
Nato said its aircraft had entered Pakistani airspace Thursday in self-defence and killed “several armed individuals” after the air crews believed they had been fired upon from Pakistani territory.
It was the fourth such strike this week by Nato helicopters pursuing militants into Pakistan, in actions that have been condemned by Islamabad. -AFP

UNITED NATIONS: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the world community on Tuesday that despite adverse effects on Pakistan’s economy stemming from twin challenges of the war on terror and the devastating floods, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) remained centrepiece of government’s development efforts. 
“We are committed to the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals and keen to work with the international community to turn the challenges into opportunities,” Mr Qureshi said in a speech to a UN General Assembly meeting on MDGs.

NEW YORK: Long after dust gathers on the US Open trophy that barely eluded Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, the message he sent on a grand stage in New York still will echo loudly.
After two sets of riveting tennis during which Pakistan’s Qureshi and India’s Rohan Bopanna came a scant few points short of winning the men’s doubles title Friday, Qureshi was handed the microphone and given a chance to speak words that, in his mind, couldn’t be said strongly enough.
“There’s a bad perception that Pakistan is a terrorist nation,” Qureshi told the crowd in 23,000-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium. “We’re a friendly, loving, caring people. We want peace as much as you guys. May God bless us all.”
He received a warm ovation from a crowd that included Bopanna’s parents, who flew from India to New York for the match. And at that moment, it hardly seemed important that Qureshi and Bopanna had lost 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) to Americans Bob and Mike Bryan, brothers who won their ninth Grand Slam tournament and third US Open title.
