    Abdul Wahid Soomro was born on October 21, 1962 in village Mohammad Hashim Soomro of Thatta, Sindh. He was the son of Ex-MNA Mohammad Khan Soomro who is the closed friend of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. he went to Cadet College Petaro (CCP) for further studies. He did his matriculation and intermediate from the Cadet College Petaro (CCP). He started his political career in his student life in 1981. He got member ship in Sindh People Student Federation (SPSF) and then became the President of Sindh People Student Federation (SPSF) unit Liaquat Medical College (LMC). Jamshoro, He graduated from Liaquat Medical College (LMC), Jamshoro, and Sindh in 1989 and he also got the degree of B.Sc from Sindh University. On 18th of February 2008 he was elected the Member of National Assembly of Pakistan from NA-237

ISLAMABAD: The three-year fragile and ineffective efforts for peace between warring sectarian tribes in Kurram Agency have received an unexpected boost in the shape of the controversial Haqqani network which is now trying to play peace broker. 

This has been confirmed by more than one source from among the key players involved in the peace process. 

The entry of the Haqqanis in the Kurram peace talks, which date back to 2007, has surprised many. After all, the network is usually mentioned in terms of its war theatre in Afghanistan and its base in North Waziristan. The US has been pressurising the government for months to dislodge the Haqqanis from North Waziristan.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani said on Wednesday that flood relief cooperation could be a turning point in the relations between Pakistan and the United States and hoped it would help faster a much greater mutual understanding at people-to-people level.Talking to a private TV channel, Ambassador said that it was due to the government’s efforts that the international community has acknowledged the massive destruction of infrastructure in the recent floods. He said that United Nations called its session only on the request of the Pakistan government.It was wrong to say by some quarters that the government remained inactive in educating the international community about the intensity of the catastrophe, Haqqani said adding that he himself remained engaged in the US to attract attention of US authorities to the biggest tragedy in human history.
He said media could not notice the efforts of the government which it was making to attract attention of international community in this situation, he added.
