PPP to continue with policy of reconciliation: CEC


ISLAMABAD: The Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in a meeting on Thursday showed its trust in President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and decided to follow the policy of reconciliation.
PPP General Secretary Jahangir Badar, after the meeting, briefed the media persons in a press conference.
He denied reports of not allowing Safdar Abbasi to attend the meeting and said that Abbasi was the member of the CEC and he was invited in the meeting.
Badar said that the meeting not only discussed the performance of the government in the flood-affected areas but also reviewed the post flood operations.
He said that the meeting also reiterated its commitment towards strengthening democracy in the country. There was no other way except democracy, he added.
The party’s general secretary said that we will win the war on terror with the help of the Army and the people of Pakistan. PPP doesn’t want any confrontation with the judiciary, he added.
Answering a question about Adnan Khwaja, he said that the issue was not discussed in the meeting.
